Write for us
United Daily Dispatch welcomes pitches that make the history, institutions or civic meaning of political unions clearer to a general reader. We are interested in a defined question, a strong explanation and a fresh way into a subject, not a broad claim that unity is always good or always bad.
What to propose
Send a concise outline of the subject, the central question and the main point a reader should take away. Explain why the topic suits one of our sections and what makes your proposed angle distinct. Useful pitches might clarify an institutional design, compare two ways of sharing authority, trace the history of an idea, or examine how a symbol comes to express belonging.
What makes a strong piece
We value specific subjects, plain explanations and a clear distinction between evidence and opinion. A good proposal names its scope, avoids treating different unions as interchangeable, and indicates what context readers will need. We do not need a finished article at the pitch stage. Please mention any relevant sources or material you expect to rely on, without claiming access or expertise you cannot substantiate.
How to send a proposal
Use the Contact page and select the editorial question option to send your pitch. Include a working title, a short outline and a brief note about the perspective you would bring. We cannot promise acceptance or a particular response time, and sending a pitch does not mean it has been commissioned.
